How much water through an overflow

Does anyone know how much flow one can get through an overflow? I have been thinking about plumbing my tanks a little different and running both drilled holes in my AGA as drains. Anyone know how much water I should be able to get to flow through a 1 inch hole and a 3/4 inch hole? 1000 gal an hour?

Not sure exactly what it will flow, but I am testing the same thing on my tank. Running both as overflows. I am currently running over 1100 gph through mine.

Hi Ice,
I've got a 1" u-tube in the overflow for my small tank and am running a Rio1700 on it (a bit less than 640G/hr) - that's pushing the envelope a bit for the 1" u tube, but seems to be fine.
Hope that helps!

I have two 3/4 in over flows and I am pumping about 1150 gph. I have had no problems yet. I am thinking of adding another 600 gph pump making it a total of 1750 gph.
