Canopy Lights for Nanocube

I was wondering if anyone on here was aware of a canopy light set up that would fit on a nanocube 24 dx, its seems like it would be so much easier than the provided lid. thanks for your help

Re: Canopy Lights for Nanocube

You can strip out the lights and ballast for more wattage. This allows you to keep the hood intact.

Why would you want to get rid of the lid? Without the lid, you need to have a canopy custom made.

Re: Canopy Lights for Nanocube

I was Looking at the two Vipers, you think the 150 watt is more efficient, i didnt know if there was ever such a thing as too much lighting.
I would like to get rid of the lid b/c it opens up many more options for the tank.
Has anyone heard anyhting about these Viper Lights as opposed to the Current USA PowerCompact Orbit Fixture. Thanks for the help, i raelly appreciate you guys, dont really have many people to turn to for questions like these, thanks

Re: Canopy Lights for Nanocube

anemones in general (carpets in particular) need very clean water, extreme lighting, stable water perameters and room to grow, they reach 2ft +. in a small tank, these conditions are very hard to maintain in such a small environment. take a 24g tank,,,with displacement you have less than 20g of water,,,with evaporation of 1gallon in 2 days thats a mighty swing in salinity. also,,some say inverts dont add to bioload,,,this is a falicy. anamenes are large animals that breathe and exhale and eats larger food. also any fish you plac in a small tank, their chance of being eaten by an anemone is compounded greatly. now worst case,,parameters slip,,,anomone feels the stress,,but things in the tank dont change via proactive care,,anemone dies,,,they foul a tank within hours,,,,total wipeout overnight or while you are at work,,,you are out money and have some aggrivation,,,and animals die.

Re: Canopy Lights for Nanocube

I used the retro fit kit (from nanotuners) to add an additional 72w to the hood of my 24. I'll say it was an easy mod (my husband did all the work)
I'll try to find a pic for ya
