Wrasse Jumped into Overflow

hey, my sixline jumped into my overflow last night... could that be because i added a clownfish yesterday? it's a tank bred clarkii. i also tore up the tank to get my shrimp into a holding tank, after he was mercilessly going after the clown. the radical new rockwork might have freaked him out too, which do you think is more likely?

thanks!

Re: Wrasse Jumped into Overflow

haha no, it was my psycho CBS. i think the wrasse jumped because of all the commotion... the last time i moved rock around he hid for 2 days.

i'm making a lid out of the grid lighting stuff now... and hopefully i'll be able to easily get him out of the overflow.

Re: Wrasse Jumped into Overflow

ooookay, that wasn't easy at all! what a pita. got him out, he's back in the main tank, looking like an adrenaline junkie from his adventure, and i made a lid for the tank from 3 pieces of lighting grid. whoohoo!

Re: Wrasse Jumped into Overflow

well the shrimp was chasing the new clarkii. not the wrasse. and the wrasse was the jumper, i think just from the commotion. the clarkii was dazed when i put him in the tank, and i had to fend the CBS off, but he wouldn't let it go, and almost got the clarkii, so i took him out, and a friend at the LFS is holding him until my CBS reef is setup.

so no, the shrimp isn't chasing him anymore. stupid CBS... he's really trying my patience. we compared, and mine was at least twice the size of all the other cbs at the store... even the older one in the show tank. the owner was flabbergasted.

Re: Wrasse Jumped into Overflow

Wrasse are known for jumping. My Scott's Fairy wrasse took 3 rides in the overflow. Two of them were thru the U tube and into the sump. I finally had to get some cutter guard and cover all the overflows.
