| Reef Lobster | Re: Pump Question?? Well.. In terms of turnover it may not be enough, is this the only source of water movement in the tank.. And sorry I don't this, but what type of tank are you looking at, FO, FORL, Reef..... ? Is the pump going to have just one outlet or plumbed to a manifold with mulitple outlets... Need more info... ![]()

| Bryozoan | sorry should have been more clear. I have 125 reef and fish with 2 over flows. My refugiums return pump supplies around 1000-1300 gph. I have added 2 additional pumps in the main tank for water movement and both move over 800 gph which really keeps the water and detrius moving. Is this too much flow or is this high flow good? The only draw back I do see if there is one, the water is a little cloudy because is keeps debris in constant flow. |

Is'nt that alot for a "fuge".Not shure but from what I've heard slower flows for a refugeum are better? And the dust will settle over time.. | |

| Reef Lobster | Re: Pump Question?? Keeping actual debris in the water column is what to strive for. This will enable it to be removed mechanicaly and not pollute the tank. As long as this is not sand or substrate you are seeing coulding your tank, and your inhabitants are happy, you are good to go. You may want to try to get a flow pattern to get as much detrus into the overfows, and use a filter sock or similair material to trap large particals..... Just make sure you clean them very often....

| Reef Lobster | Re: Pump Question?? Filter socks are usally installed on the return from the tank into the sump.... This of course assumes you have a sump.....
