| Harlequin Tuskfish | PC to halide I had a 55Gal with 260W of PC lighting & have moved everything into a 120G water depth difference betwween the 2 is 6" new lights on the 120 are 2 175W HQIs & 2 96W PC Actinic. Spectrum is the same on both lights. 10,000k daylights & True Actinic 03 Blue what should the process of aclimating the corals to the new lighting? I have some softies, leathers & polyps. I have been running 10hrs a day in the past. |

| The Wand Geek was here. ;) ![]() | Re: PC to halide I would reduce the photo period to about 4-5 hrs per day and slowly increase it back up to 10 over 5-6 weeks... add an hr/week. Some people use screen layers between the lights and tank; then remove one layer at a time.

I have bought more timers so I can run my halides actinics & moon lights all seperate. In the past I ran the daylights & actinics together. edit: I did a search & found some good info on the subject. |
