Problems with my ASM G3 Sedra 5000 Pump

Problem:
Well the subject pretty much says it all. I was laying there watching tv this morning and I noticed that the sedra pump on my ASM G3 skimmer is powering on and off. It will run for 3-4 minutes and then turns off for 3-4 minutes. Then it comes back on and repeats the cycle.

Info:
I took it a part and cleaned it before I set it up 2 weeks ago. I have not noticed any problems with it till today. I cleaned it again today to make sure the impeller was not stuck. I tried a couple different outlets and ruled out that as the cause of the problem. I do not see any signs of wear on the impeller, or anything else that may be causing the problem. I tried to wiggle the power cord to see if that was the problem. I have checked the cord for problems, and did not see any.

History:
The skimmer is probably 4 years old though it has only been used for a year or two.

Suggestions?

I can not think of anything else to do. Does anyone have any other thoughts?

Thanks for the help.

Does that pump have an auto shut off? It must think it is running dry/overheating?

Relax Min. Sedra is one of the most reliable pumps available to us, even if it is Chinese made...

WS, you are probably right... That is the only thing that makes any sense at all. I guess I will be replacing it. Thanks.
