Don't have one in my tank, but it looks like it might sample your corals. Here is a link to some info.

Re: fox face reef safe?

most that i have known are not nippers, they love algae and look like they are going at corals, when they are going inbetween to get algae.

how many other fish and sizes are in the tank? they can get to 8".

Re: fox face reef safe?

I have a foxface, and it's a geat little fish.
It never bothered my coral at all, and it ate all the bubble algae!!
And I have to say this is one tough fish. It has went through a rough time in my reef when the tank got ick. It was only 1 of the 2 fish that lived.

Re: fox face reef safe?

Also keep in mind that a foxface is going to outgrow that tank fairly quickly. You're already gettinig pretty close to having a max bio-load, a signid of any size will add quite a bit to that.

Re: fox face reef safe?

I too was considering a foxface. I have a 46 gallon with two Ocellaris Clowns, each about 1.5 inches right now. I had a yellow wathman goby, as my signature says, but he is no longer with us. Would I be overloading by adding the foxface? I am adding a 10 gallon sump in the next day or so, so my actual water volume will be about 8 gallons more.
