my peppermint shrimp yes its peppermint ate my small frag of hammer. anybody? help

They like anemones on occassion... probably thought it was one. They're not entirely reef safe, as you just learned... sorry.

Keep them well-fed and they're usually OK.

Bummer!

I have never owned a peppermint shrimp.... I do have skunk cleaners and a fire shrimp that are very well behaved (except for stealing food from corals).
