| Neon dottyback | Tank stands How high do your stands sit ? include dimensions of your tanks I am building the stand for the 180 gal. and i am fearing that it might end up sitting far too high. is 72 in x 48 inch tank and at current measurements it will be sitting more than a meter from the ground. Im worried that it might be too top heavy and tople over. there will be about a tonne of weight in it. the sump and skimmer and whatnot will be sitting under there so i need quite abit of height for that. any opinions ?

| Acropora | Re: Tank stands The stand for my 200 is 41" high. I'm just guessing that's around a meter.I really like a tank at or near eye level. They look great but are a PITA to work on stools, ladders etc are required . There is lots of room under them for equipment though. Use diagonal bracing for sure and bolt the frame to the floor or a wall if possible. |

| Acropora | Re: Tank stands To keep the stand square. the back and both sides really need to be braced. Make them so they can be removed and then put back. Even small triangle shaped supports in the corners would work.Witful is rite! check to see if the floor is level! |

| Neon dottyback | Re: Tank stands Yeh i had planned to use lil tirangles in the corners. As i want access from the sides i dotn really want to have braces there. removable ones would just be a PITA and IMO not really worth it.
