Question ASM G1 vs. Aqua C Remora Urquin

Which one of these two skimmers performs better?
what are your likes or dislikes about them?

I'm not familiar with the Remora skimmers but if you end up with an ASM You won't be disappointed! I'm very pleased with mine.

Depends on how you want to use it. If you have a sump, then the ASM hands down. If it's going to be HOB, then the Remora Pro is a very good skimmer.

Re: ASM G1 vs. Aqua C Remora Urquin

Having never owned an ASM, I can't compare, but I do own a remora and like it, altho I'd say the regular model is good for no bigger than 30g. I also own a coralife superskimmer 220, and I like it so far (after 3 days). I also know of 2 other people with coralifes (1 with the 125 and 1 with the 65) both are very impressed with them, and they've been using them for quite a while.

Re: ASM G1 vs. Aqua C Remora Urquin

I am a huge fan of the asm I have several of them and i put them in all of my reef tanks that they will fit
the performance is much more adjustable than the aqua-c
if you have a sump and the budget isn't the bigggest deal step up in class a little to the asm g-2 i have nothing but wonderful things to say about them.
as for the aqua-c and those who have one know about the little plastic injector screw which can be a hard to understand.....

Re: ASM G1 vs. Aqua C Remora Urquin

I haven't had any problems with the plastic screw on the remora... yet. It doesn't really do much for my 50g, thats my only complaint, it just can't skim as efficiently as I'd like it to for a tank 10g less than what its rated for. I am going to use the remora on my 10g prop tank, and my montser coralife 220 needlewheel on the 50g setup insump, which my 5g seahorse tank will eventually be plumbed into as well.

Re: ASM G1 vs. Aqua C Remora Urquin

I like my asm3. To be honest, I wasn't exactly sure what i was getting at the time and just trusted my LFS friend. He may have made some extra money on my purchase, but he didn't steer me wrong... it handles my 90 gallon great!
