Re: Corals withstand low tides

I've seen that video before too, not at MACNA, someone posted a link to it here a couple of months back.

Is the video copyrighted Limpets Reef? Are you the narrator in the video? Are you walking all over the exposed reef in that video?!

Ok got that one resolved. It was shown at a local reef club (AMAS Asheville Marine Aquarium Society) meeting. I think Joe *President* or Eric *Fins Reef* said they had talked to you (maybe even via Email). It was several months back if not longer.

AWESOME video!!

Live Rock Rubble will do the SAME thing as Bio-Balls and is NOT a suitable replacement for BIO-BALLS in a Reef System! It's ALL gotta go!!
Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Scott I'm with you, all I kept thinking about was the corals this person is walking all over while taping!

Although corals can withstand these extreme conditions I don't see any benefit to it IMHO. As the video mentioned there was no large colonies although I have seen photos of some and they do just as well if not better in deeper water with no exposure to these type of conditions. We had a member here who dove in the Red Sea and the SPS coral colonies he saw were massive and in 30' of water and are never exposed to air/sun.

I am the person in the video.
Just to clear one thing up with everyone saying I was stepping all over the coral. I NEVER stepped on a single piece of coral ever. I even mention that at one point in the video that you cannot walk out any further without stepping on coral. I am 100% save the reefs, oceans, environment, etc. and would never damage or harm anything. I wish I could say the same thing for the fishermen who net cast off the end of the reef at low tide though.

Watch my other videos, I talk about keeping the oceans clean, fragging corals to save reefs, etc.

You are correct. Joe from AMAS contacted me about showing it at the club meeting. He has been the ONLY person to ever ask.
Glad you enjoyed it.
