I have been following this thread now from the first post until today. In the meantime I have the second-FW tank up and running, even the first breeding successes in the seconde tank.

by the way Paul ..... what color or better, what Kelvin has your new lighting?

Thanks for being here, they are all 10,000k. UV lighting company brand, I use them along with actinics over my reef and they made up half the lighting over the old planted. Needless to say I like them.

I'm too use 10.000 k over my two FW tanks, it is a wonderful light and the plants love that obviously too.

yep Frankie , but more the red ! 10K is a blue light and that is very good for any planted system.

Its at the top end of the favorable spectrum for planted. 10k is more blue than 5k ( sunlight ) and less blue than 15K. https://www.bltdirect.com/images/colour-temperature.jpg

The UV lighting company 10k bulbs have a bit of a pink hue to them too.

Thanks for clearing that up guys. I have been thinking about a planted tank for a few months now. Well see what happens after the fish are out of quarantine

i'm not expert with fw planted or really even experienced frankie but i have a low light 20g and i love it. its very cool and has cost me very little. no all the fancy plants but enough for me
