If you decide that black would be cool the best way to stain wood black would be to use wood bleach to make it white and then stain it with black Indian ink. Very cool looking on wood. So what was the out come on lighting? What did you order?

So tell us... what did you get and why? I guess what I'm saying is what "Specs" do you use for Planted tank lights? I would assume lower in the spectrum to enhance Plant Growth but how do you PUSH plants yet control Algae?

I paid way too much for the wood to blacken it. But I'm sure in the right place that would be really nice. ( I might do that for the SW now that I think about it )

I got components for a 6x 39 T5 HO lighting system.
Tek2 reflectors ( 4 "60" to be cut down to the appropriate size, the scraps will make up the other two. ) all 6 bulbs a re UV lighting company Aquasun 10000k. I am using a Fulham workhorse 3 and 8 to drive them.

Can't wait to see the light fixture come together.

I have some UV Lighting bulbs and like them a lot. They are slightly different than what you've got but the bulb quality is "Up There"

I got the DIY reef order.

It now makes me want to buy new reflectors for the SW as they are are tarnished and corroded, didn't realize how bad they were until I got these new ones for the FW.

I have been over there twice to work on the stand.
I got all the actual building of it done except for two trim pieces that need to be glued on, take 10 minutes.
