| Sea Pen | My cichlids Hi there. I just made my meet 'n greet post a few days ago, and I just noticed the freshwater section. I have been doing freshwater for many years, and have been into African Cichlids for the last 3. My current setup is a drilled 55 gallon with a mix of Tanganyika and Malawi. I don't have shots of everyone, or even a full tank shot at the moment (its still on my camera at home), but I figured I'd post up what I got and say "hi". The business end, I built this out of walmart plastics. Does a pretty good job. ![]() Interesting pic of my A. Calvus. I saw a video on lake tanganyika, these guys are slender for a reason. He is always angled in some interesting position. In the wild this is a defense mechanism: ![]() Pair of J. Ornatus, parent and child right here. Long story, but the parents bred for the first time during a spring break week from college, and when I got back one of the parents had columnaris (cotton mouth). It died, but I noticed this one surviving fry when scooping the dead guy out. Man, the fry was TINY when I found it, it has come a long way: ![]() N. Brichardi ![]() L. Caeruleus. I had one just like him, but twice the size, until he decided to jump into the overflow, get sucked down the standpipe, clog my filter, flood the floor, and die in the filter.....ugh ![]() Ps. Socolofi. Definitely my biggest. I actually found this gem at my local marine fish store. ![]() Thanks for lookin! |
