I raised and bred discus for years. BEAUTIFUL fish, but very tempermental.
I never did care for the "pigeon blood" discus, just not a natural color morph.

I had several species and varieties in my tanks, from "red-spotted greens" to turquoise, wild heckles. and many others. I got some of my original broodstock from Jack Wattley in the 80's, when he was "King of American Discus," and many more from various other breeders. I shyed away from the ones coming from China, Singapore and many other Asian breeders, as they were coming in with "The Discus Disease" at the time., and lots of defects.
I got hooked up with Bing Seto in Alameda, one of the original Kahleeforneeya discus breeders, and got some VERY nice show fish from his hatchery.
