Long Fin Rosy Barb

Nice active fish but Im afraid to put cardinal tetras in there.

I would donate them back to the lfs so I could get a lot of cardinal tetra, but the problem is I want some bigger fish that are colorful and the options seem few relative to salt waterfish.

I have a few rainbow fish and close up you see some nice colors but from far back they look bland.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

Re: Long Fin Rosy Barb

What size tank are we talking about here?

These guys have always been a big hit for me:Tropical Fish for Freshwater Aquariums: Red/Blue Columbian Tetra
The link says they only get to 2.5 inches, but I find that they will get a little larger and quite bulky for their size.

Diamond tetras are also a new favorite of mine. They don't have a lot of colors and don't show well in the pet store, but they really are a beautiful fish. Honestly, they are not something I would have thought I would like, but after having been given some by a friend I have found that they are really a neat fish.

you should check them out. IMO YOYO's are the coolest fish to have. Friendly, active and interesting to watch

Botia almorhae(Yo yo) are a 6" fish, and not eel like. I'd say a 75g tank at least.
