| Golden Moray | Kind of Concerned Ok guys, I think that the rock we grabbed was Limestone. Seems that we are right on the Mississippi. So to test it, just take White Vinegar and if it fizz's don't use it? If it doesn't fizz, it's fine??

| Brunt of all Jokes~ ![]() | Re: Kind of Concerned it can fizz for several reasons, if its limestone your ph will climb, it may or may not be a problem depending on how high ( another reason for co2 lol) I soak them in muriatic acid/water solution then let them dry, if they have iron youll see brown stains |

| Ricordea | Re: Kind of Concerned I am a firm believer in using only natural materials for tank decoration. I would use only those rocks that I am 110 percent sure are safe for the tank and as an added precaution I would also boil the rocks in hot water to kill any diseases or parasites along with the vineger test.
