| Manta Ray | Well, I have not been on this side of the question about CO2 for a long time... I asking it. I know bottled is so much better than DIY but DIY it is for me. instead of one big 2L pop bottle that causes flux through out the month, what about a few small bottles replaced at staggered times. Same amount of the CO2 concoction, same one line into the tank... but a few bottles. Say 6 each with 21oz in them. And replace one per week, so each one lives out a 6 week life as normal. Why is this a bad idea? Is it a bad idea? If not, please delete thread until patent... j/k.

| Re: Co2 I think the problem with mixing small bottles would be the small amount of CO2 would not create enough pressure to flow into the tank. Just a thought I have no experience with that. I used 2 and 3 litre bottles. I did often have two bottles running to one tank at different stages in production. |

| Manta Ray | Re: Co2 Well it would be the same amount of the concoction, there for, in theory, the same amount of CO2 and pressure. It would still only be one line into the tank.

| Neon dottyback | Re: Co2 i have a red sea paint ball system with tank only missing air line tubing 15$ at most and no ph moniter that comes with it. but it is very inacurate. I used it for a week and through it out. ne way i will sell it for 110 plus shipping. half price. I have the bubble counter, pressure reducing valve, co2 cannister(paint ball size), co2 reaction chamber and pump, and the needle valve. only needes air line hoseing. the ggod stuff though. because the cheep stuff corrodes.

| Neon dottyback | Re: Co2 i have had the diy yeast systems, hagen makes a cool one. but in my openion they all stink. bottled is nice and easy acurate and cheeper in the long run. Suger for 4 two leiter bottles cost a lot. compared to 4 dollars every 3-4 weeks.plus if the yeast backs up into your system it can creat havock. plus most people go with the diy systems because bottled usally cost more to start up . the system i have is definalty a huge step up from diy yest. but it is the cheapest way to get bottled co2 to your tank.and very effective my plants took off like weeds.

| Manta Ray | Re: Co2 ![]() Hey, I just realized, this is a $3 project. Worth the up grade. 6 24 oz Coke bottles ( free ), 5 Air line T's ( $3 ), Glue - aqarium silicone is what should be used, but I have some epoxy that should do the trick for $5 less. Line ( have some extra ), and thats all folks. I will get too doing this soon. Soon as I have the bottles, and by that time I will have the T's bought too.

| Manta Ray | Re: Co2 Well I got it built today. Will add concoction in two days as silicone needs to dry. It is an up grade, but I used vinyl air line, instead of silicone, and the rack for the bottles was done in 3 min, that should speak of the effort put into that item. Still, a free upgrade can't be complained about. The Bubble counter may be replaced too as its just a piece of 3/8" tube.
