The circle tank is a myth. sharks need lots of flow so the sounds will bounce off the sides of the tank similar to the coast shore waters this prevents them from running into the sides or dragging fins. As far as types of sharks I have kept even the 10th deadliest shark in the world the lemon. No matter what the shark is & believe me when any of them decide to attack or even just give a quick swipe of the tail it can cause serious damage. I would personally rather go 5 rounds with the heavy weight champion of the world than tangle with w 5' shark.

Moray eels yes the do like hiding in cave this is because they are ambush hunters. Most keepers of these creatures have PVC tubes big enough for them. I do the same even though it wasn’t in the picture. A moray in a cave can be a very vicious creature if you get close to it & it feels scared. When I clean tanks with any of the dangerous creatures I prefer to have all of them out in the open where they can be seen no surprises.

25 years in this hobby I have had my fair share of bites scrapes & feel like I have been beaten severely by sharks & eels they are in no way something for an inexperience aquarist to even attempt except maybe a banded cat or epilolette.

Remember these animals are wild you can get them to come for food but your hand can be on the menu as well. As Vicki she now knows & respects them a bit more. The nurse shark that bit her she would pet all the time. It only takes once. Then you join the once bitten twice shy club. if you are lucky you have everything left & a scar if not you have the stump or even worse death to show lack of RESPECT & KNOWLEDGE of the creatures.

Re: Who keeps stingrays? Fresh or salt? Or has a shark?

It's not a myth. You know the animal must swim to breathe.A circular tank allows the animal to swim more smoothly. The idea that it's a myth was started by people who just have to have a shark and can't afford to do it right.Of course what constitutes cruelty is a subjective thing......
