Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

a black background will make the tank a feeling of mysterious(not sure if i use the right word), i mean it will looks like there is an other world behind the plants, which we would like to find out.

a white background will make a feeling of peaceful.

i kind of like the peaceful feel. but for sure a black background will strike the plants color.

Re: Taro 2ft planted tank

You have an awsome planted tank! I've been considering starting a fresh tank with live plants. Now I know who to ask advise from.

Great Job!

Re: Taro 2ft planted tank

yes, because HC need strong light, low temp, and CO2, but i do not have co2 in office. low Temp work with office air-conditional. the light is not that strong too.

so i make it as emmerse, which it will get co2 from air. it will grow faster. but will need to keep it moisture.

hahha Jason i am still a newbie too... lets learn together

below is the setup of my nano.

Tank Size: 30cm X 17cm X 23cm = around 9L water = 2.25 gallon (not very sure is it 1G : 4L ?)
Light: 13W PLL

empty tank..

use ADA Africana Powder

put abit of soil before the stone.

Here the 2 main stone and one 'base' stone

glue the stone. using the right stone to hold it while waiting..

final scaping.

wet the soil

Taro: can we go home yet!!??

plant some HC.

HC Done

Make a plastic cover to keep the tank moisture, cause will start with emmerse。。

ta da...

put back to my desk, on the light.

----- end -----

Re: Taro 2ft planted tank

lately I find myself attracted more and more to fresh water planted tanks. Maybe once my reef is up and running I will start an Elos freshwater tank. I would love to have something like this...

Re: Taro 2ft planted tank

Taro, another beautiful tank. Have you consider entering the Amano World Wide Competition for planted tanks? ( I think that is what it is)
I can see Taro is very upset and wants Mummy's attention.
Keep the pictures coming ,we want to see the progress.
What about the pictures of the beautiful Koi Pond?
