Cichlids

Chum, I know you have em. I don't but like to talk about them - do you have?

I have a HUGE male Midas Cichlid. He is the ony fish in the tank. I started with a 55 gallon tank. I had several very small cichlids. Bob (the Midas) was the smallest of them all. He got picked on very badly. Well everyone started growing up, my two Jack Dempsys got married and had kids (hundreds of them). My other fish lived single happy lives and loved to go out on saturday nights. Those fish loved to party. Bob was the Loser of the bunch, everyone picked on him. He lived in his little corner, and wathced as the other fish lived thier happy litle lives, all the time knowing he had a evil secret. The other fish would pick at his fins, chase him, and would not let him go clubbin'. He was sad. So to drown his sorrows, Bob did as many do.......he ate. And when I say he ate, I mean he ate ALOT. The only time he was the main man was during feeding time. He was a pig. Well time pasted, the Dempsys had more kids, then more, then more. The other fish just kept partying. Bob, on the otherhand, just kept growing. Finally he got big enough to pick on someone else. He killed and ate Frank the Convict. The other members of the town were shocked. Time passed and the community forgot about Frank. Well Bob was not satified, next on his list were the Kids of those who tormented him most....Mr&Mrs. Dempsy. WHAMMM......he took out like 50 babies in one gulp.

. Well then he ate everyone else.

SO today I have a 10 inch long Midas named Bob. And he even attacks me, the one who was on his side all along

Seriously though, he draws blood. I did not know a Midas had teeth that big. He is like a pretty Pirahna.~Michael

i had my fair share of chichlids once i decided it was time to jump my saltwater up from a 20g to my 55g(where my chichlids were living) so i took it to my friend at the lfs and did a little bartering hehe

wicked story michael, well delivered....

I have a 6" Jack Dempsey, a rescue from the local petsfart. Originally there were 2 jacks, but my Arrowana managed to get the smaller one
