| Reef Lobster | Re: pic of light, anyone? More to the point, I assume you would like to use 5500K bulbs because of their cost. I have used 6500K 150w HQI bulbs on my 90 gal FW planted aquarium. Even that is a very yellow looking light, not unlike late afternoon sunlight. It was so yellow looking that when then needed replacement, I switched to 10000K bulks. Unless you have some very unusual requirements, I would not recommend using them. 5500K bulbs would just look way too yellow, and wash out the colors of your fish and corals. |

| Manta Ray | Re: pic of light, anyone? I'm going to redo the planted. I will tell myself the reef doesn't need anything more(except to finish the sump)and try to believe it. I will go with new 10000k lights, goal is double the wattage. and weed the jungle and add new plants, to crate the slope. I'll start torwd the end of the month.

| Manta Ray | Re: pic of light, anyone? Would this have a good effect? Aquarium Lighting: AquaSun 10000°K T-5 HO Fluorescent Tubes I plan on two of these with a programed start ballast. And later run another 24" T-5 HO on another circuit.

It's ALL gotta go!! Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
