Question Cold W/C

I use that python siphon that hooks up to your sink / hose spicket for my FW water changes. Sence the weather turned cold so has the water ( hose spicket ). I like the python and don't have room to fill buckets, let warm up, later use, thats a pain too. So heres my plan; The water coming in is cold, so...

...heat it....

...something like or...

...then...

Got it? So I admit theres a few details that need to be smoothed over, thats were you come in.

Re: Cold W/C

Hot water is a big no-no! Its off the hose, not sink. That instant heater sounds good, do you have a link by chance?

Re: Cold W/C

ya definately not hot tap water. unless....... i've seen those brita filters that hook up right to the faucet. that would probably take care of the heavy metals and chlorine in the hot tap water, no?

Re: Cold W/C

Those under sink heaters run $100+, no way. Maybe DIY, back to above plan.

I've heard this one somewhere. Hot water attracts or melts what's in the line or soemthing like that, it contains metals... I think. You're not supposed to make coffee with it or use hot water when you fill a pot to boil, only cold water.

Re: Cold W/C

...sedament in the hot water heater too. Bad stuff is concentrated / made there. Never drink it. It will also corrode lines such as in coffee makers
