Thanks Robert! maxijet 1200 for flow, very little is needed, there is no filtration added just the tank, c02 certainly makes lush fast growth but not necessary for growth, high wpg,c02 and fertilizers means trimming 2 x a week. Overall the best thing is if you dont like it, rip it out and redo it, nothing seems to mind

Re: Puttin gas in the tank (castle)

OK, thanks for the explanation, makes sense. I've had a couple planted tanks in the past and had heard about CO2 usage but never got into it. I may try this again in teh future, good to know options.

Aah, good,.. I was worried people would think less of me for not having a good fart joke handy. Normally I do you understand, but I got no sleep, and today I really was running on fumes, I just didn't have the gas to kick my mind into overdrive and be creative.

Post a pic of my tank eh? I assume your talking about the planted ones.

This is my old 180, it was ripped down a couple months ago:

A couple flowers that tank gave me:

And my current planted tank,.. though the color in this picuture is all messed up

Re: Puttin gas in the tank (castle)

Well the valves ( bottled CO2 ) or rate at witch is made ( DIY ) will keep it from getting to high ( with proper setup, see above post ). A little Ph flux isn't going to hurt anything. In the wild the Ph changes daily ( night to day, as temp changes and the plants respiration... ) and any time it rains theres a huge change in Ph out there. So its very uncommon to have troubles from that, I wouldn't worry. But thanks for pointing that out...

I took it down because it was stupid to use the reef ready tank as the freshwater tank

The 180 now looks like this:

No problem, and Thanks!

I think those are too bright for me,.. for moonlights I use the large (5W) christmas bulbs (blue of course) or if I can't find those, the 4W Childrens nightlight bulbs Works great!
