Re: help with adding fish

Sorry for your troubles martin.

First thing no more fish until you have treated EVERY fish and the main tank has remained fishless for at LEAST 8 weeks.

Next once you get rid of ICH you need to get away and STAY away from tangs in either of your tanks. Neither are large enough for a tang.

Ich will NOT go away. That's your LFS wanting to give you some more bad advice.

Take a few minutes to read over this thread and hopefully you'll be better equipped to deal with the problem.

Marine Ich - Myths and Facts

Regardless the tank and fish MUST be treated.

Re: help with adding fish

so this is where im at i feel like throwing in the towel so many plp saying so many things an not that i dont think the moveing the fish way is the best im lost ive been keeping saltwater fish now for a year an this is the worst ,so this is what i might do set up a tank useing water from my mt that ive already done an but the tang in there that died,so from what i get i shold leave the tank up an running watch it an check it so it is the same as main tank then try an get my outher 4 fish out i have a 30 gal an a hang on the back filter an a small pump to move water since the mt fish seem ok im going to give the qt a small amout of time to cycle will this work becuse if i just leave the fish in there they will 1 get it or 2 will they beat it, man thi ssucks on so many levels

Re: help with adding fish

I'm sorry for your frustration. I understand. It isn't so much that there is bad advice out there, it's just that the bad advice is 'easier to follow.' Thus, everyone is attracted to what sounds easy. The facts and actual/right things to do is hard, when trying to recover from the situation you're in. However, once it is handled properly and the system is disease free, you will need to keep it that way by use of a quarantine tank. So having/getting that extra tank now is a good idea, if the ones you have won't do.
