My Clown has a red spot/pimple

My Clown has a red spot on his chin. The spot looks just like a pimple, with red around the edge, and a white spot in the middle. He is eating well and acting normally.

Tank info: 34 gallon, containing only two Clownfish, clean-up-crew, and a few corals. Tank has been set up since November 17th - fish were introduced to the tank on December 10. (And yes, my tank did have a definite cycle.)

Feeding twice per day with Spectrum Optimum Flakes, or Formula One Flakes, or Formula One Pellets. For the first week or so I was only feeding every other day, but for the last week and 1/2 I have upped the feeding to twice per day to provide more nutrients.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to what this could be? And recommended treatment?

i dont think its a pimple but it could be a cut of some sort.. has he been showing any aggression? or been timid around another fish?? also, he could have bumped it on a rock.. i wouldnt be too worried, just feed proteins and supplements to boost his immune system so that he wont get any time of infection while the open wound is healing..

I believe that he is the male, at least he is smaller than my other clown. The larger fish (female?) does push him around a bit. He has had this sore for about 2 weeks. How long should it take to heal?

How long should I wait before I take some sort of other action?

i would QT him immediately and administor alot of supplements.. he needs to boost immune system, to prevent infection.. i use Vitamin C, Amino Something, and a Multivitamin all made by Brighwell Aquatics.. try that, give it a few days, maybe even a week or so.. if that does not work then i would start worrying..

I have ordered the supplies needed to set up a quarantine tank, but in the meantime, thank goodness, the fish looks much better. The spot is almost gone. I will continue to watch it very closely, and will have the equipment shortly to set up a QT tank if needed.

My clown developed the same red bump. It started right after an ICK infection that took me a month to clear up with ICK ATTACK. I noticed a white spot under his lip, now (2 weeks later) it looks just like the picture of your clown.

Did you ever find out what it was? Did your clown recover?
