| Limpet | Lymphocytis GONE in 7 DAYS A week ago I posted pics about my Damsel that was later thought by concensus to be lymphocytosis. I went to my reef shop and they generously let me test out a product by .:: No Sick Fish - Your source for quality fish products called "Velvet (Oddinium)" which I then applied one drop twice daily to the sump for 7 days as prescribed. I slowly watched the several white granules lining his fins disappear and today (Day 7) they are all completely gone. I am usually not one to testify for products, but this stuff worked. Only concern is it costs $50 for probably 3mL. But at 14 drops per infection I guess it would go a long way. Probably worth the $50 if you have some expensive fish suffering from Lymphocytis. |

| Yoda Poohbah~ ![]() | Re: Lymphocytis GONE in 7 DAYS um, i hate to burst your happy bubble, for a product. more likely good water conditions did the turn around. NSF product has been tested several times and never did much. you helped the fish cure them selves.,,,,water quality is the best medicine!

Water 1 week ago: Temp. 80.7 pH 8.2 Saline 1.024 Ammon. 0 - 0.25 Nitrite, Nitrate = 0 Calcium 280 (low) Alk = 7dkh Water today: Temp. 80.7 pH 7.9 Saline 1.024 Ammon. 0.3 (diatoms being destroyed by phosban) Nitrite, Nitrate = 0 Calcium 350 (still a little low, but better) Alk = 7dkh (still needs to go up) I think it might be the medicine, but who knows. Maybe it just needed a couple weeks to run it's coarse? Last edited by amc78cj7 : 02-07-2008 at 03:29 PM. | |

| Tuxedo Urchin | Re: Lymphocytis GONE in 7 DAYS A low pH -- a pH out of range -- is a stressor on the fish. The correct pH was likely affected by your additions, which in turn returned the water quality from not-so-good, to good. Like the human common cold, Lymphocystis is a virus. Also like the human virus, there are no known definitive cures for the masses, for virus infections -- in humans and fishes. I have so far not heard or seen any medical breakthrough indicating we have found a cure for common viral infections. Still looking though.
