| Fire Coral | Quarantine Tank.....What comes next? Hi I have just introduced my first fish into my Q tank. As this is a first for me I have a few questions which probably will seem a little silly but if you don't ask you don't know I guess. With the intention of leaving this fish in the QT for about 6 weeks do I trewat automatically? Do I put it through a hypersalinity course automatically? Do I do anything in fact other than just observe it closely? Is the stress of eventually moving it from the QT to the display tank a factor? Please forgive my ignorance but all my reading ever refers to is about using the QT not what you do whilst the fish is in there. Kind Regards Scuba Steve |

| Achilles Tang | Re: Quarantine Tank.....What comes next? Steve, Almost all your answers are in this post: http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forums/...step-step.html Stress from QT to display should be minimum if you slowly change the QT to the same water parameters (pH, temp, Alk, Ca, Mg, sp. gr., etc.) of the display. Just observe the fish in quarantine. It is a time for both you and the fish to get to know each other. It is a time to train the fish on what proper foods to eat: http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forums/...nutrition.html and to truly acclimate the fish to captive life without other fish interactions. Congratulations to you for choosing to use a quarantine process!
