how much of the minerals and what brands do you recommend

I am assuming you're talking about micro elements added to the water? If not, just clarify for me.

I buy any (I mix the brands I use) micro element additive for marine systems. I cut the amount recommended by half and add that monthly, just a few days after a water change or just after a water change.
