My puffer has ich

My new porcupine puffer has ich. I went to the fish store and he gave me garlic drops to put on his food and in the tank. I know there are other ways to treat this. He told me fresh water dip would kill him and garlic was better than medicine and he would probably not make it.

Alot of fish have made it through having ich.. Garlic will help. Reduce stress as much as possible. Have you had any swings in temp,salinity or other tank readings that may have caused stress on the Puffer? What else do you have in the tank?
