Reptile Tank

Is there any way to make a tank that was used for snakes and reptiles safe for saltwater?

Will a strong dose of Distilled White Vinegar help bring it back?

Thanks,
Steve

Re: Reptile Tank

it should i hear vinegar will clean up a surface of most things making it suitable for saltwater tanks.

My biggest concern would be if the tank was meant for that type of critter the glass may not be thick enough to support the weight of the water. Some Terrariums for Reptiles & such use thinner glass to save money, since the tank isnt meant to hold a large water load.

Re: Reptile Tank

I would not use a true terrarium for an aquarium, the silicone will be minimal and the glass will be thin, however most of the time people keep repliles in true aquariums, just because they are more common. I would say figure out who makes it and what it actually is, and if you are sketchy about it get a glass thinkness estimate, shouldnt be hard to do, and then fill it with water and let it sit outside somewhere for like a week, if it holds and you feel comfortable with it you can use it I suppose, but you will want to add some more silicone. It really all depends on what is actually is though and how thick the glass is
