| Bryozoan | Re: New skimmer setup help Thanks for the info JWarren, I'll certainly test the water this week when I make up a batch of water. I had read an article a couple months ago about testing of the various salt mixes and IO seemed to look ok. What mix(es) do you use recommend? Thanks! |

| Reef Lobster | Re: New skimmer setup help I am still using IO right now. I have used it for years and have had no problems, yet. I will be looking into another salt that has been on the market for a year or so and will be ordering a bag to run some tests on. OceanPure Synthetic Sea Salt Mix I won't be doing any in-depth testing, just the mains. @ 1.024 SG Calcium Magnesium Phosphate Alkalinity Ph Iodide Nitrate Nitrite Ammonia If everything looks good to me, I will try it for a year and see how it does. I have heard no negatives on the salt so far. |

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: New skimmer setup help Definitely test a batch. There is always the possibility of getting a bad batch no matter what the salt. I recently had a bucked of IO that had very low CALC.
