| Fire Coral | Spectrapure LiterMeter 3 Remote Pump Can this pump be used without the whole LiterMeter 3 System? I want to use the Tunze Osmolator ATO with the Spectrapure pump but can't seem to figure out if it's possible. I have some concerns that the pump is controlled through a 3.5mm jack that plugs into the LiterMeter system. Is this correct? If so are there any other ATO pumps that can work with the Osmolator to pump up about 15'? I'll be pumping from a resevior in the basement. Thanks! ![]() |

| Fire Coral | Re: Spectrapure LiterMeter 3 Remote Pump You could try calling Spectapure. They are pretty helpful in answering questions I have had in the past. But I believe you are correct that the litermeter remote pump will only work with the litermeter system. Im a bit surprised that the stock osmolator pump wouldnt pump that high. I also have a osmolator and although Im not pumping up 15' I am pushing it into the bottom of my DIY 4" kalk reactor that is 24" tall. I think I remember my LFS telling me there is another pump available from Tunze for higher heads. Another thought..(that I have done myself) is to make a small remote sump closer to the tank. I used a 5g salt bucket with a lid, mounted one of the cheap float valves into it and ran RODI to it via the float. Then install your osmolator pump inside of it and run the output to your sump/tank.

| Fire Coral | Re: Spectrapure LiterMeter 3 Remote Pump Great. Thanks for the help. I will call Spectapure to verify. Unfortunately my setup doesn’t allow any room for buckets or top off vessels of any kind. I can easily pull a small hose up from the basement so I think I’m going to stick with that. If I can’t find an alternate pump I’ll have to buy the whole Spectapure system to get the remote pump. From what I’ve found the Osmolator pump has a max head height of around 7 feet. Has anybody else pushed it up any further? I'll look in to the Tunze products for an alternate. |
