PC Lighting For 5.5g Nano?

Catalina Aquarium SOLAR HOOD POWER COMPACT-3x13 watt

I think it will fit on the tank. Tank is 12x8 on top. I'll get the leg kit for it.

Thats about 7w per gallon. I realize it's just PC, but that's all I can find. I just have one 6-line wrasse in the tank with about 4lbs of live rock and some sand. I'd like to use this as a frag tank, so good lighting is kinda important.

What do you think?

Re: PC Lighting For 5.5g Nano?

I ended up calling Catalina and having a custom fixture made. It's going to be 12" long x 7" wide. It will have 3 PC lights @ 13w each. Total 39w. One 10K, one actinic and one 50/50. It's coming with legs and a splatter shield for $70 shipped to my door. Kinda pricey for a nano with one fish, but I'll eventually want to put frags in this tank, so I guess it's worth it. This may end up being my frag propagation tank.

Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot.

I'll make the whole damn world jealous if given the money to do so.

Don't make mistakes and learn from them, read and learn how to avoid mistakes.

He had to be removed from my DT because he went all Charlie Manson and tried to kill a couple other fish in the DT.

Try the Current 12" PC fixture 18W single 50/50 or dual 50/50. I have a 3 gallon pico and just got this fixture for it. Comes with docking mounts. Around $43.00 at dr foster/smith or marine depot.

Scroll up 2 posts. I already ordered a light. It's 3x13w PC. 39w total.
