| Midas Blenny | wet dry to refugium So I am going to change my wet dry into a refugium. The sump measures 2' long x 1' deep x 1 3/4. It has a piece of acrylic right in the middle so I plan on adding 2 pieces of acrylic to each side of that middle piece, then adding 1 more piece off to the side to separate the sand and rock from the return pumps, and the other side will hold my G2 skimmer . Or if its possible to remove that middle piece I can set it up a little different. Anyone had this same situation before? |

| Harlequin Tuskfish | Re: wet dry to refugium Jed, I am just getting set up but I am curious what kind of pump and display tank you have. You can see my design in my pics. I also have a g2, My sump is 30 by 18 by 12. I allocated 12/30 to the g2, 3/30 to baffles 6/30 to my pump and 9/30 to the fuge. My flow rate through the baffles is so strong I am getting microbubbles and I had to throttle my pump down. I think you may be in the same position.

| Midas Blenny | Re: wet dry to refugium Is there an easy way to get to someones thread? im still quite new and cant seem to find a way. It is possible to have the G2 dispense the water into the refugium, and the overflow from the baffles around the refugium straight to the return area? |

| Midas Blenny | Re: wet dry to refugium So I took some pics of an idea that I have for my refugium/sump. Do you think this will work? http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...z/refuge_3.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...z/refuge_2.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/m...z/refuge_1.jpg I have the skimmer draining to the refugium then overflowing to the refugium side. The skimmer area I plan on having more like rock rubble as well and the return pumps will be in front of the refugium are. The skimmer will be under 9" of water. |
