2 Jagers in my system, one in display and one in sump.
They all are off a bit IMO.

Re: What Brand of Heaters do you use?

I just bought two Stealths and I really like them so far. They also have a plastic outside so there shouldn't be any shattering if they're accidently left on while they're out of water. Of course, they're suppose to sense that and turn off but....

Re: What Brand of Heaters do you use?

Before buying a Jager, you should note that there seems to be some contention as to whether they are fully submersible or not. If you check Dr Fosters they even note they are only submersible to the water line. When I noticed some stray voltage, I immediately suspected the Jagers. I then called Dr. Fosters, and they credited me in full for both Jagers, and didn't even want them back! As a result, I now run one Jager and one Stealth heater, and between them both my water doesn't waver more than a degree. Eventually they will be on a neptune controller as well.

Re: What Brand of Heaters do you use?

I fight the heat with chillers. yeah, the amp master 3000 pump on the Closed loop, skimmer, uv, ca++ reactor, 2x250 watt MH's, 4x54 watt T5's, phos ban reactor pumps, t5 lighting over the refugium and my constant friction from cleaning gives me plenty of heat

I have no pumps in either display or sump. all pumps are external....ooops I forgot about the Rio 1400 for the Remora I set up today. The second heater is a back up incase one conks out on me.

why did I choose Jager.....I had a BIG problem with temp fluctuations after installing a chiller. I had been using a Marineland heater for 3 yrs. I took it out of the tank and ran tests on it in a 10 gal rubbermaid. It was 8 deg. off.

I just googled the heck out of heaters and read post after post and finally settled on Jager.

LOL ! and to think that I've only been running a chiller for the past year! For years I was comfortable running my tank at a bath water warm 81 deg. I'm at 78 - 79 now.
