Re: What Brand of Heaters do you use?

I like the stealth heaters. I have one in my salt tank, one in my fresh tank, and one in the qt. I use a Finnex on my water change bucket.

Re: What Brand of Heaters do you use?

I have two 250 watt Jager heaters in my reef's sump; one Jager in my 55 gallon saltwater reservoir; and one Stealth in my QT. All are completely submersed.
I use controllers on the reef and QT so I am not sure how accurate the temp settings are; but the Jager in the SW reservoir is holding on target at 78deg.
I have noticed that the Jagers keep the water warmer quicker/easier than the Stealths do. I tried a Stealth in the SW reservoir (which is located in my garage) but it could not keep the water warm during the cold days.

I'm running Stealths as well. Like the fact they'll shut down if water level is too low & they don't have glass tubes.

almost pinpoint accurate?
I have them in the 450g tank I'm setting up and I've only had them working for a week. That jury is still out. For the week, they seemed to be right on the money though but I don't have that water temp hooked up to my controller so I only get the temp when I look at it.

I honestly can't say how good they are just yet.

Re: What Brand of Heaters do you use?

That's what I'm running in my 90g system. I have a pair and they were "off" (dial wise) from the factory but my temps stay pretty rock solid in my system with them.

with a SW set up there is one basic fundamental rule that we ALL should follow
When in doubt... wait it out. This means take it slow and let the tank "develop" and don't rush it. Time is your friend
