Another Sump question

Umm so in a sump system.... after it gets sucked through my diy over flow box(http://www.marinedepot.com/ps_ViewIt...ct~CR1515.html) getting syhponed down into my skimmer and cleaned... what makes or should i ask how does the water return into my tank? if gravity is pulling how does water climb up a tube? how does it defey gravity and push its way back UP in to my tank? im using this as a filter (Petsr4u - ProClear Aquatics Model 175 Wet Dry Filter with Prefilter, Wet Dry Filters / Skimmers) Do i use a pump what kind of pump?

Thank you

Re: Another Sump question

It is pumped back up to the tank. You can find an appropriate pump by looking at their gph vs. head chart

Re: Another Sump question

You need an in sump return pump. Such as a Mag 12. The return volume should be roughly 10X the volume of the tank. A Mag 12 is 1200 gph.

Re: Another Sump question

I believe a Mag 12 is 1200gph at 0 head, not 120.
