Re: Calcium Reactor

o i hated it at first. it was not until i realized the media size needed to be 12mm range.

Scott, did you try to using media in this size range? the ARM coarse is new, intil it came out this reactor sucked with other medias.

Re: Calcium Reactor

I think that is what I used. I'll have to take a look at it when I get home.

Re: Calcium Reactor

With my experiences different solenoids/regulators can be a huge deal/difference. Some pretty much suck while others put on the same system control it very steadily and accurately. IE some people run the milwuakee stuff and have had no problems while the other crowd once used it, hated it, then changed. Honestly I think you can get good performance with any of the reactors listed, maybe just a little bit of trial and error though.

Re: Calcium Reactor

Hey michael,
If you read up on a lot of people's experiences with Korralin CA reactors many people find them harder to use and get dialed in than Lifereef/MRC/Geo/Schuarn styled reactors. I have no expereince with the Korralin units, but with MRC. And like Zy's post above, a good regulator and solenoid makes a huge difference.

Re: Calcium Reactor

Gen-x came with the MRC unit I used, it was a preset unit that was pretty stable.
The ReefFanatic unit is pretty popular. And like posted above the Milwaukee unit seems pretty hit or miss depending on who you ask.
I think Jeff at Lifereef recommends a particular regulator that he stocks, I would say it is a safe bet whichever he is shipping with his units are pretty good as well.
