| Torch coral | Kalk Reactor and Calcium Reactor Is it ok to have both a Calcium Reactor and Kalk Reactor running at the same time. Will this cause any pH issues? Anyone doing this?

| Reef Lobster | Re: Kalk Reactor and Calcium Reactor I wouldn't do it. You wouldn't need both. Besides, you would have many problems trying to figure out which unit was causing the pH problem. A calcium reactor rated for your tank size and properly dialed in, would be all you would need. If you found the need to add calcium after it has reached maximum performance, I guess you could just drip Kalk. There are a lot of variables. Your load will always dictate your consumption rate. Its a matter of supply and demand and I have yet to hear of a calcium reactor not being able to meet the demand, because its output is adjustable.

| Ricordea | Re: Kalk Reactor and Calcium Reactor different types of situations may call for both. For example, if you don't evaporate an adequate amount of water to replace it with enough Kalk to adequately sustain the Ca/alk levels in your tank you might need both. Also, if your pH consistently runs a little low but your caclium demands are high you might need both as well. Just my .02. God bless, disciple

yes, ca reactors are adjustable. in order to keep ca levels up, my pH drops. the kalk is there to keep pH up. | |
