Which trash can again, brute?

I KNOW I have asked this before, I searched all over and I can't find where so I'm posting again (story of my lilfe...)

Which trash can do y'all use for mixing, is it the brutes? I need to update my mixing strategies.

Thanks. I'm off to the LFS for a new hydrometer (broke ANOTHER one...) need some PH fix... then home depot! ... oh need another heater for the trash can...

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Re: Which trash can again, brute?

LOL. We went to petco just to be safe to get the hydrometer (I won't buy fish from petco) and they still had a butterfly fish that I looked at for a while.

OK, all set!! 44 gal brute trash can, ready to go on the back porch, we can stick the RO/DI tube out the back window and into the can!!

Thanks guys.

Re: Which trash can again, brute?

The thing I noticed with putting the water containers outside is trying to keep them heated. Even with the heater in my trash can outside its way too cold to keep it a good temp so I do it inside now.

I am torn about buying fish from Petco/Petsmart. Do I save the little guys or do I not buy hoping that they will not sell fish anymore (yeah right)....poor guys.

Well I used to feel the same, but after the last fish I bought didn't even make it 24hrs and they wouldn't give me a refund or store credit "due to saltwater fish being so sensitive" I've refused to shop there ever again.

This porch is all enclosed, brick walls with storm windows. Gets cold if we don't put a heater on in there but with a space heater it's not bad. And I run the space heater anyway bec. my treadmill and elliptical are in there. I refuse to exercise in the cold. Maybe why I can't drop any weight

Yeah, I dunno about Petco either. This one place, their livestock seems OK and one or two employees seem to know what they're doing but another one a little up the way is horrendous. I feel the same, do I boycott and hope others do to or save the poor things?

Are you folks getting these at the HD or Lowes? I checked all their Brute trash cans and they are all marked with a 4 or 5 in the recycle triangle and neither of which is HDPE. HDPE is a level 2. I haven't bought one yet because I was looking for the HDPE, but maybe the 4 is OK. Level 4 is LDPE or low density polyethylene and level 5 is PP or polypropylene.

Re: Which trash can again, brute?

I got mine from home depot. 44 gallon round. I would have liked square, but couldn't find one. I'll look and see what number mine has on it.
