| Acropora | Re: Flushing an RO membrane? No flush valve on my unit. I thought I had to reveres the flow over the "outside" of the membrane. Looking at the flush kits I didn't see how it was possible. I think I got it now. When flushing the water flows in the same direction. All You need is to bypass the resticter( mine is an adjustable valve on the waste line. This reduces the pressure below the point it forced thru the ro membrane. The Filmtec ro is rated at 50 psi. I just removed the valve on the waste line water runs thru at 20 psi. Geez I can complicate things! |

| Acropora | Re: Flushing an RO membrane? I read that flushing wasn't that effective but I figured it wouldn't hurt. I make around 50 gls a week so thats about 600 gls since I replaced all the filters 3 months ago. Probably no where near what You go thru. I have never gotten below 2ppms. ppms are up to 5 now so it's time. My tap runs at 135 ppm usually. |
