not sure. never thought about trying that. i know both T5's and MH can run with soft starts, like on many controller. not sure though what effect the dimmer would have on restricting the power longer. i would think though you would not get PAR you need and might burn out the ballast, but thats just a guess. someone i am sure has tried it, anyone, someone????
