Replacement Time . . .

Ok I have this over my 10g tank
24" Coralife Aqualight 130w Double Linear Strip Light and it's time for new bulbs. I'm totally lost and yes I have posted this before but for some reason I can't seem to get a clear understanding of which brand AND type of bulb is best. It's going to be a FRAG tank in a few weeks if that matters any...

It comes with
Coralife Actinic 03 420nm PowerCompact Bulbs
and
Coralife 10,000k Super Daylight PowerCompact Bulbs

I am wondering if this Coralife Actinic 03 420nm PowerCompact Bulbs
could/should be replaced with Coralife Royal Blue Actinic 470nm PowerCompact Bulbs

Or do I need to go with a different BRAND of bulb to get a BETTER bulb. It's a 21" Straight pin configuration.

Any and ALL help is greatly appreciated!!

Al,
Can you fit a 22" bulb in there?

I actually prefer the Current USA PC bulbs over the Coralife. Unfortunately, the 65w are 22" long.

I use the Dual daylight and the Dual actinic bulbs.

Yeah I am pretty sure it will fit easily.. there's a lot of room at the tips!!

Ok here's the question.. how IS the bulb measured? Is it from the pin end to the tip of the bulb or JUST the glass part of the bulb?

I'm not sure. We know that the Coralife bulbs are 21" so measure the glass on them and see what you get.

Ok I physically measured the bulbs IN the fixture and from the TIP of the glass bulb to the other end of the plastic base (not including the protruding pins) was 21". If my measurements are correct, I have room for a 22 1/2" bulb and maybe JUST a hair more

I think I'll order CURRENT bulbs for my fixture now

For a frag tank? MH's.

it got down to 50 yesterday but today was like 60. remember i am on the water so it is warmer then inland.

Yeah MH's would ROCK but aesthetics and $$ hinder that... at least now.. I have VISIONS of a Frag Rack or tanks at some point out of sight and then it will be MH baby

Frank, yesterday was warmer starting out at 15 and getting UP to about 42 with today being balmy starting at 34 and getting up to 52. Love my Mountains in the winter time

Ok ANOTHER snag... I went to order and for the daylight ( I don't want 50/50 for it) they only list " 22" SunPaq Dual Daylight6700ºK/10000ºK 65W" what gives?

its a dual tube fixture, one side 65k, the other 10k

see if they have an all 10k
