hombby light fixtures?

hey everyone,

does anyone have any info about the hombby lights on ebay? I was thinking about getting the 36" fixture for my 40 gallon breeder. I heard they used to have problems but are supposedly fixed now and I also heard that they might be associated with aquatraders which i guess is a bad thing. let me know if you know anything or have used these lights. i have searched and seen that people have heard that they arent that great but i want to hear actual clients opinions.

On a personal note I stay well away from Aqua Traders. That has NOTHING to do with Reef Sanctuary but a personal thing for me.

at first glance I thought theis thread was tittled HOMEBOY light fixtures... ghetto~fabulous!!!

damn...I cant afford anything else of the same wattage. Bummed out...I was stoked off of getting a metal halide. now I think I can only get fluorescent fixture (i like the halide look)

Sorry buddy.. don't be bummed out. I know the feeling but the last place you want to "skimp" is lights or filtration.

You can look on Craigs list and also check with your local reef club. Someone may be upgrading their tank or something. I just recently got one for less than 1/2 price because a fellow reefer has an "unplanned family addition" where-as the Tank room was soon to become a "Nursery".

Keep your head up. It will happen if you're patient. While you're waiting, keep saving your money. It's possible your savings will grow to help you get a GREAT deal on a unit when it comes available.
