| Tubeworm | I was told the Maxi-Jet 1200 gets too hot and was wondering what you guys think. Is the Maxi-Jet 900 strong enough? And is it even an improvement from what it comes with? I just got the tank yesterday and want to start cycling this weekend. And I don't want to have to swich Powerheads when the water is in the tank already. |

| Reef Addict (hopeless) ![]() | Re: Which Powerhead for 24 Gallon Nano Cube? I have the MJ900 in my 12g Nano-Cube. If you're comparing the MJ1200 to the stock pump it's much cooler and more powerful than the stock. But if you're comparing it to the MJ900 yes it warmer but them again you're not comparing apples to apples. My personal vote would be for the MJ1200 in the 24g Nano cube but then again I don't have that tank. I have a MJ900 in the back chamber replacing the crappy stock pump and a Koralia Nano power head inside the display tank giving even more flow. That's an option you can utilize as well. The Nano Koralia gives a nice flow without too much DIRECT force on your corals.
