| Tubeworm | toying the idea of lights... ok, i got a few question and ya all please give me your input of pros and cons. from what i see a lot of ya all running 10k or 14k light on MH or T5 and also on CF. anyone running on 6.5k? from what i understand, the lower the k, the yellowish the color in the tank, am i right so far? what are the pros and cons on 6.5k? i went to tractor store and saw this, it a light fixture which run 2 65w fluorescent bulbs which equivalent to 300w halogen bulbs and it rated at 6500k on the bulbs. i m toying the idea of this and was wondering will i get any good out of it or not. yea call me a redneck reefer ![]()

| Manta Ray | Re: toying the idea of lights... Those lights will be very yellow, and may spur algea growth. Most corals grow better with more blue light, as this is the type of light they recieve in the sea.
