| They misunderestimated me ![]() | Re: Kent Marine Nautilus TE Protein Skimmer Depends on your budget and how much you can get it for I suppose. I personally prefer the needlewheel style skimmers as do many people on here since they are extremely easy to use and adjust. ASM is very popular since the price point is nice. you may want to look at those as well as the octopus skimmers. I would recomend one of those just from my personal expereince with those style skimmers. I haven't used a nautilus so can't comment, but they seem to retail for around ~175-200 without pump. I think the Octopus 200 runs around $180 with pump, ASM G2 (oversized for your tank) would be around $270 with pump. Look around see what's in your budget and go from there.

| They misunderestimated me ![]() | Re: Kent Marine Nautilus TE Protein Skimmer I think it would be fine. If I remember correctly BoomerD used a larger than recommended mag drive to power his. It's been a while though so it's hard to remember these details. Might want to shoot him a pm although he doesn't check in with us as much as he used to ![]()

| Reef Shark ![]() | Re: Kent Marine Nautilus TE Protein Skimmer Actually, I used it on a overstocked 40 gallon, but it IS a pretty good skimmer when set up right. I got this much skimmate at least once per week: ![]() I used a mag 7 to power the skimmer with the turbo-eductor on the intake side so the pump chopped up the bubbles before sending them to the skimmer. Some people use the venturi on the outlet side of the pump, which still works, just IMO, not as well.
