Skimmer/Sump Combo?

Ok so would this skimmer and sump be a good combo for my 54gal? I will be the 1st to admit I am lost when it comes to these 2 things.

Mini G Series Skimmer | Venturi Models | Protein Skimmers | Aquarium - ThatPetPlace.com

Reef Sump - 10-75 gal. - 18 in. x 10 in. x 16 in. | Wet/Dry Filters | Filters | Aquarium - ThatPetPlace.com

Re: Skimmer/Sump Combo?

Personally I would step up the Skimmer. ASM makes a great skimmer, but the Baby G is better suited to a nano tank. Look at the larger sized ASM skimmer, I think that they will give you the best performance on a 54 gallon tank. I am about to put a G2 on a 30 gallon tank. I personally believe in over skimming.

Re: Skimmer/Sump Combo?

I agree with Michael. I would go with the G1 or G1-x for that size tank.
I am also a fan of agressive skimming and have a G4 Plus for a 125g reef. I have a G1-X doing a great job on my 90 but I will probably upgrade it soon for a G2 or G3 when I get my seahorses due to the overfeeding possibilities.
