| Tunicate | Lighting for 92 gallon I am upgrading from a 55 gallon to saltwater fish only tank to a 92 gallon corner tank that I want to be a reef tank. I have a 20" coralife 4 tube linear strip light along with the standard double strip light. Will this lighting be sufficient for hardy corals and anenomes? I am not going to dive into the corals that are difficult to keep right now but am curious if my lighting will work. Please advise. Thanks!!

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Lighting for 92 gallon Can you tell us what kind of light it is and the wattage? That makes a big difference. Also the anemone makes a big difference. There are a lot of corals that are fine in relatively low light conditions but anemones need lots of light. Preferrably MH or T5.

| Tunicate | Re: Lighting for 92 gallon The compact light is 1X 96w 50/50 and I have a double strip that hodls regular 36" two prong bulbs that I can get in different watts. I am thinking of putting in some mushrooms and maybe a bulb anenome. What do you think?

| Tunicate | Re: Lighting for 92 gallon The mushrooms may be fine but you really need something more powerful for an anemone, otherwise it will slowly starve. Do some research on anemones, so you know what kind of lighting they need. Everyone says metal halide, t5's or a new LED. Good luck, I have the same tank and it is great. I have a 36" power compact on it and a few zoanthid polyps, some starburst polyps and mushrooms. Marcie |
